I Make Good Sounds At Parties (2020)
PARTIES SUCK.
A balls-to-the-wall comedy, Parties moves at a frenetic pace as the birthday party Russell Goldman (no relation) attends spins out of control and my (oh, uh, his) anxiety balloons. When I run into the ex I’ve been avoiding for years, the party fully collapses around me.
I wrote I Make Good Sounds at Parties to capture the isolation and hopelessness I feel attending a house party. We designed Parties as a surreal experience from inspired by those real feelings—my desire to belong to a partner who would make it so I don’t have to go out to parties anymore. I do not get what I want.
